Physical Properties Testing

Lubricants have a wide range of properties that impact their physical and chemical properties.  Some of the main properties of lubricants, which are usually indicated in the technical characteristics of the product, are flash point, fire point, specific gravity, color, and appearance.   As the lubricants are monitored in operation, the results are an indicator of change decreasing in the concentration of additive elements and increase in concentration for wear elements. Different trends can be observed for various physical properties.

This testing can detect fuel dilution of lubrication oil, dirt contamination, antifreeze in the oil, excessive bearing wear, and more. From the essential physical properties testing to the complexities of data comparison and/or interpretation, Savant Labs look forward to offering our decades of experience and quality services to meet your lubricant testing needs.
